I will blog my experience with getting a Reliance Jio for my Moto X Play.
Day 1 :
01/09/2016 - Saw the announcements made at Reliance AGM by Mukesh Ambani and after careful consideration decided to get the Jio sim.
The 4G only network in place without legacy issues and the proper handling of Voice calls as free which was long overdue (To me it was inevitable and am glad that Reliance did it).
Installed the "My Jio" app from play store.
Saw that there were no Motorola phones in the "Preview Partners" list/Image of Logos.
Wrote an email to Motorola for support on this issue.
"[---001:000925:26459---]"
When will Moto X Play 2015 get Reliance jio 4G Preview offer?
And don't give me boiler-plate answer like, "At the earliest."
Give me an estimate!
Day 2 :
After exactly 24 hours I received a response from Motorola.
As I expected they responded with a 'Standard Reply'.
So I requested them to escalate the matter.
Confident that Motorola had my back, later that night I went through the registration for getting the SIM in "My Jio" app.
A unique code was generated (called by Reliance as "Coupon Code")
I was told to come back next Sunday on the 11th and get my SIM then
I asked the employee if I could port my number to Jio, she said that it's not possible and that porting facility may be possible after
1st Jan 2017
So I requested them to escalate the matter.
Day 3 :
Again exactly 24hrs later I received a response from Motorola.

Day 4:
I went to my nearest Reliance Digital store (Vidyaranyapura one) at 10 am and found out that they are out of SIM's and was told to come back on Thursday.
The employee was very nice and helped a bunch of us who were waiting outside the store as it was not yet opened (Opening Time is 11 AM).
I decided to go visit the Mantri Mall reliance store as I had a feeling they would be more prepared.
At around 11:20 AM I stood in line with around 8 others ahead of me and got a Token instead of a SIM.
I was told to come back next Sunday on the 11th and get my SIM then

Day 5: Day of the Launch
05/09/2016 - The Jio Preview Offer went live but I could not enjoy the benefits of 4G as a SIM was available at TWO reliance stores.
I also received a reply from Motorola the same day.
" Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Motorola.
From today the Reliance Jio is partnered with Motorola and you can use the same by installing My Jio app on the device.
Make sure that the device is updated to the VOLTE patch update that was released for Moto X Play.
If you the device is not updated then please wait for the software update for the device to use VOLTE feature on the device.
After generation of code you may contact the Reliance store for the sim card.

Turns out they really did look into it and made it possible for my phone (Moto X Play) to be included in the Preview Offer.
I checked the "My Jio" app and indeed did notice Moto logo as one of the Partners now!
Thanks to the team at Motorola who took my email seriously and gave the customer a solution instead of excuses!
